I had the opportunity to contribute to an impactful project at Yusen Logistics, involving the redesign and modernization of their outdated website. Tasked with enhancing its functionality to align with their evolving business needs, I meticulously defined the website's structure, features, and design. Through comprehensive research and thoughtful analysis, I crafted a user-centric approach to ensure optimal user experience. This project allowed me to showcase my expertise in both design and research, ultimately delivering a revamped website that effectively met Yusen Logistics' goals and enhanced their online presence.
Design Process
The design process for the Yusen Logistics website began with stakeholder interviews to gather their perspectives, pain points, and needs. We then utilized marketing research provided by their team to understand their customer profile and create a corresponding user profile.
A benchmark analysis of their market competitors followed, identifying patterns and industry standards. Moving to the UI design and prototyping phase, we prioritized compliance with WCAG accessibility guidelines and ensured compatibility with both Roman and Asian alphabets.
The design was validated with stakeholders before being handed off to development. The product team conducted thorough QA and exploratory tests to ensure a smooth launch of the website into production.
Through this streamlined process, we delivered a modernized website that met Yusen Logistics' requirements and catered to their diverse customer base.
Wireframing
Designing the wireframes for the website proved instrumental in obtaining swift feedback from the client and facilitating early-stage iterations. By presenting the structural layout and key functionalities in a visual and simplified form, the wireframes allowed for clear communication and efficient collaboration. This enabled us to gather valuable insights from the client early on, making necessary adjustments and refinements to the design before investing significant time and resources.
The iterative process at this stage proved crucial in ensuring that the final product met the client's expectations while optimizing time and effort in the overall development process.
UI Design
Building upon the feedback received from the wireframe stage, we seamlessly transitioned to designing the final version of the website while adhering to the company's visual guidelines. The iterative process allowed us to incorporate client input and refine the design elements, ensuring a cohesive and visually appealing end result. By aligning with the established visual guidelines, we maintained consistency with the company's brand identity, delivering a polished website that not only met the client's expectations but also resonated with their target audience.
